Body Painting At the Premiere for Disney’s Alice Through The Looking Glass
Inspired by the visual language of ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS we focused on the mirror, time, and the distortion created between them. The further from the mirror we go the more distorted the game becomes as time and the eternal tea party become more entangled. We used UV lights and the Cheshire Cat to symbolise how what you cannot see may not remain hidden, and may reveal itself under the right circumstances.
I still can’t believe I had the opportunity to work directly with Disney on this piece. It was a great event, and they were a most supportive client to have on board.
The base in red, white and blue was using PartyXplosion body paint. The gold was a Mehron powder pigment mixed with Graftobian mixing liquid. Then I airbrushed over it with Airbrush black paint using custom hand cut stencils along with a mixture of other stencils from Cork Art Supplies.
